Hello to everyone

The British Livebearer Association (BLA) via our Guppy section are planning our first show in the UK for over 25 years and I would like to give everyone advanced notice, the date is July 2006 I will confirm the actual date when we have the Hotel booked.

The show will be a pairs only show, the idea behind this is bring more fish stock in to the UK.

Accomadation will be available to thoes who want it at the same venue as the Show (Holiday Inn) I will let you know the costs shortly.

I will post additional information as it becomes available, but in the meantime if you can support us with some enteries please let me know or if you feel you would like to come over and make a weekend of it.

We will be having lectures on the Saturday with the fish auctioned on the Sunday

Regards

Derek Jordan

Hi To everyone

We have had a few problems with arrangements for our Guppy Show in Sept so this has now been re-scheduled for October details are below.

If anyone has any questions or would like to enter fish and we are looking for as much support as possible please contact me.

Kind regards

Derek Jordan

THE BRITISH LIVEBEARER ASSOCIATION ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE
Our International Guppy Show will now take place on the 14th and 15th October 2006 at HOLIDAY INN, DERBY (M1, JCT. 25) BOSTOCKS LANE, SANDIACRE, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE NG10 5NI.
Anyone wishing to attend the event and stay over should contact Dave MacAllister 39 Beaufort Drive, Barton Seagrave, Kettering, Northants NN15 6SF email – dave.macallister@ntlworld.com
The Show will be a True Pairs Only Show i.e. one male and a matching female.
The event will now be run alongside our Convention, with a wild fish show as well as the Guppy show.
Whilst we are still anticipating entries from all over the world, we are aware that there may be concern that the event is late in the season and that there could be problems with the cold whilst shipping entries.
We have therefore made facilities so that fish can be sent at any time from now up to and including Friday 6th October 2006 and they will be looked after for their stay before the show.
Please send your entries to:
Derek Jordan, 9 Rockingham Crescent, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN31 1UL ENGLAND.
Please email Derek when fish are to be dispatched so arrangements can be made for when the arrive: derek.jordan@sjpp.co.uk
We anticipate that there will be several visitors, especially from Europe, so it may be that arrangements could be made for those individuals to bring your entries for you. We would still need to know if you will be entering your fishes preferable by Friday 6th October.
The judging of the fish will be based upon the European standards; an English version will be displayed on the BLA website in the near future.

For any exhibitors who will not be present at the Show but would like their fish to be returned to them, arrangements can be made, otherwise they will be treated as donated fish and auctioned on the Sunday, with the proceeds going towards the costs of the event.

Hi All,

We will be holding our 2nd Internatuional show in the UK this October; full details can be found at http://www.fancyguppies.co.uk/index.htm

I would like to thank Luke for his support last year it was appreciated

We had 84 entries in toatl with fish from the USA (Luke) and Italy (who are supporting us again this year with 20+ entries, so a vote of thanks to the Italians for their support both last year and this)

Perhaps one years we can host a WGA show?

Any questions email at derek.jordan@sjpp.co.uk

Kind regards

Derek

Hi All,

Down to 1 week before our show now and looks like we should have 100+ pairs entered.

The Guppy hobby is starting to grow again in the UK and we shall be supporting a number of European Shows next year.

We will also be sending fish to the WGA show next year.

Who knows we may even one year be able to offer to hold the WGA show in the UK!

Regards

Derek

Hi All,

The UK Guppy show over last weekend was a great sucess, with the overall Grand Champion going to Jens Bergner to see the show on video and all the winners go to the following link http://www.fancyguppies.co.uk/index.htm and click on show video on the front page.

The auction was also excellent with many pairs selling for over £30.00, thats about 43 euro or $60.00 the top two prices paid were £69.00 (100 euro or $138.00) and £110.00 (159 euro or $220.00)

Thank you to all those who helped and supported the show.

Regards

Derek Jordan
